Institute Declaration

The Declaration of the Rights of People with Cognitive Disabilities to Technology and Information Access (called “the Declaration”) is a list of reasons why people with cognitive disabilities, including intellectual and developmental disabilities, deserve to have access to computers, internet, and other information and communication technology.

The Arc of the Capital Area has one-time volunteer opportunities for community, school, companies and other groups. Group volunteering occurs in our post-secondary program which includes courses in art, health and wellness, gardening and career education.

Lara has seamlessly navigated through various roles within our agency and has now landed in the heart of our operations, where she wears many hats with absolute grace. Whether she's juggling tasks or spearheading projects, Lara shines in every role she takes on! 👏 ✨Lara says, "My journey with The Arc began as a studio volunteer in 2015, drawn to a welcoming community that I knew little about, and quickly evolved to so much more!
