Nonprofits such as The Arc of the Capital Area thrive because of the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations in the community. We thank those who give of their time, talent and treasure—from our generous sponsors and funders to our Board of Directors to the hundreds of volunteers who help with our various programs and services.

The Texas Cowboys have played a vital role in the success of The Arc for over 60 years. Originally founded in 1922 to stir interest and add color to athletic events, the Texas Cowboys have evolved into an organization that serves the University of Texas in all ways possible, including various community service endeavors.
Their partnership with The Arc of the Capital Area began in 1954 after serving a community service sentence. For the past 6 decades, the Cowboys’ contributions to The Arc have been both faithful and substantial. From 1962 to 1982, the Cowboys contributed more than $120,000 toward the payment and upkeep of our current building.
In addition to financial contributions, the Cowboys have also volunteered at The Arc’s the quarterly art shows, the “Building Bridges” Art Celebration & Auction, field days and more. It is these social events that have cemented individual and group relationships during the years, and we are continually grateful for all that they do.
The Junior League of Austin has made many meaningful relationships with The Arc’s participants since 2010. They play a crucial role in our annual art celebration, Building Bridges, and our quarterly art shows. JLA has helped the artists of The Arc place their work in public spaces, worked on marketing and PR, and volunteered at special events. No project is too big or too small for the Junior League of Austin!
National Charity League Austin Chapter has partnered with The Arc since 2004. This mother-daughter service group has had an immeasurable effect on the lives of our participants. They make a difference building relationships in our art studio and at movie and bowling events. They also collect requested donation items for The Arc’s participants.
