The Arc of the Capital Area has developed an extensive Resource Guide to help individuals, families, and community members access the services and support they need. This guide is designed to ensure everyone can find the right resources to enhance their quality of life and provides information with various topics such as Crisis and Legal Support, Daily Living Support, Employment, General IDD Services, Health & Wellness, and Social Engagement.
Medicaid Waivers are programs that help people who need long-term care to stay in their communities rather than in a nursing home or other facilities. The costs of long-term care can be very high, especially for those who are low income. Medicaid Waivers help cover these costs. However, these programs can be confusing and hard to navigate. This training aims to make it easier to understand how to access these important services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
